The 'custos operum,' or keeper of the works, was responsible for the fabric of the buildings of the priory, including the cathedral, and he managed repairs to the buildings.
This roll was one of three rolled together (with DC/A5/8/2
and 3) that were received from Messrs F. and A.L. Bowker, solicitors to
Mrs Barker Mill. The account runs from Michaelmas to Michaelmas. This
manuscript was formerly housed at Winchester Cathedral Library,
shelfmark W53/15/4.
