The prominent Browle (Browell, Borrell, Borrele) family appears frequently in the accounts of the 1580s and 1590s. Richard and Thomas Browle were both hatmakers; although Richmond had a Cappers' guild, the Browles may have been working under the auspices of the Mercers, Grocers, and Haberdashers. Thomas Browle hosted the warden's dinner on more than one occasion.
The musician Ralf [Ralph] Binckes was likely related to the guild's underwarden in 1580, Christopher Binckes.

The officers of the guild include the elected warden and underwarden, who served for a year but were eligible for reelection, and a number of 'searchers' (that is, inspectors). Most of the payments recorded in the guild's minute book concern the twice yearly warden's dinners, though dinners were also held to welcome new guild members. The accounting of disbursements ends in 1619.
